OnRamp Wireless Redesign Website

On-Ramp Wireless

(Website Redesign)

View live version

This website was created for On-Ramp Wireless and was my first real-world website development project for a client. The website was designed using the wordpress platform and is completely responsive, featuring a parallax scroll and many custom solutions/plug-ins including a visual representation of the RPMA signal connecting to devices seen on the homepage and a pop-up product slider seen on the solutions sub-pages. The original website looked very stale and dated so I utilized a parallax effect on the home page and flat design throughout the website to give it a fresh and consistently branded look. This project underwent many revisions and took a total of 3 months to complete. I gained very valuable experience working with the marketing team throughout the evolution of this project. On-Ramp Wireless is currently waiting for the content to be professionally copy-written before the new design goes live.

Coachella Redesign Website

During the responsive class our final project assigned was to redesign a festival or organized event of our choice. The goal was to create a fully responsive website while improving the design. I chose Coachella music festival as I'm a huge fan and attendee. I spent a lot on the color palette, trying to stay true to the desert theme as well as the polo field where the festival takes place. I implemented responsive design so that the website will adapt to any screen size and present an optimized view for the users experience. I utilized Jquery plug-ins as well as personally coded my own for the countdown timer. Overall I learned a lot about responsive design through this website and plan to carry that on to all of my future designs.

EDM Levels Website

During the programming for designers class our final project assigned was to create a web application that had some sort of usable functionality with PHP. I created EDM Levels, a site based off user submitted soundcloud electronic songs. Each week producers could upload their songs and battle for recognition on the home page based off of the level their song was rated. The idea was created to help promote unknown talent to record labels. I learned a lot about PHP and the benefits of using the language for advanced website functionality and usability.

Flux the Game

Flux the Game

Flux is a side-scrolling shooter, where the player controls a small ship and must avoid the asteroids to obtain the highest score possible. Upon staying a live for a designated amount of time the player will advance to the second level where more asteroids will be generated and different visuals will be displayed. The game was developed entirely from javascript and the Jqeury library. The concept was largely based off asteroids but my goal was to add an interesting and increasingly challenged spin. For example the player must solely rely on his/her piloting skills without the help of defense mechanisms. Another interesting concept is that the player may leave the bounds of the horizontal axis and be teleported to the opposite side; the asteroids have the same functionality on the vertical axis. I really enjoyed creating this game and I it enabled me learn a lot about the fundamentals of javascript and its associated libraries.

Animal Bliss Website

The Animal Bliss website design was a very challenging project due to our strict time constraints. We had roughly 4 weeks to create a complete website for a fictitious company that was randomly assigned by category. I was assigned the medical field and I thought creating a company veterinarian clinic would be fun and exciting. I created everything from the logo to a complete style guide for Animal Bliss before I had a chance to even consider what I would be coding. The goal was to create a full website that would offer everything our users could possibly want while incorporating knowledge of other languages to ultimately improve the design. After creating and mapping out the style guide and branding, the designing became much easier. I really tried to create a unique, lively and memorable design that made the user feel comfortable and happy while also providing easy to find information relevant to their needs.

Neighborhood Camera Shop Website

Neighborhood Camera Shop

The Neighborhood Camera Shop assignment was one of the only assignments that every student had to redesign. The goal was to create a website from the ground up that would provide information about the cameras sold in the shop and ultimately to get the customer to contact the store to receive more information. My solution was to create fixed bar that remained positioned at the bottom of the screen that provided a telephone number that was noticeable but not overwhelming or annoying so that it wouldn't drive the potential customer away. This project really helped me develop my SEO practices through HTML as well as boost my CSS knowledge through some cool tricks I had learned thanks to the advances of CSS3.

My first website I ever created after learning the basics of HTML and CSS. Our assignment was to create a blog style website based upon something we were interested in. After just recently receiving my associates degree in graphic design I focused primarily on the design aspects of this website. With the knowledge of the web I have gained I would probably code it entirely different now but I still admire the style of the website and I think it was a huge stepping stone in the development of my web design career.
